OCEAN POUNDS is honored to announce the publication of Night Owl Sonata (in one movement), the final literary work of the late Holly Lee, written between 2020 and 2023. This limited-edition release, with only 100 hardcover copies available, is now open for orders.
Night Owl Sonata is a collection of 40 poem-prose pieces that reflect Holly Lee's profound growth as a writer. Composed during a reflective and transformative period of her life, these works were originally published in MONDAY ARTPOST, an online platform curated by Holly and her creative partner Lee Ka-sing. The book is a testament to Holly’s enduring creative spirit, with writing that embodies the grace and clarity of a seasoned artist who had reached the pinnacle of her literary craft.
The book features 152 pages, with cover artwork selected from the creations of Gary Michael Dault, in accordance with Holly’s vision. A prelude of 35 sequential black-and-white photographs by Lee Ka-sing serves as an “overture,” offering a striking visual introduction to the poetic journey that follows.
Night Owl Sonata (in one movement) represents the culmination of Holly Lee’s artistic career. It is a deeply moving and translucent expression of her voice, inviting readers to experience the profound simplicity and elegance that marked her creative maturity in her final years.
